More information about the MBLEx Application Process

Requirements
Individuals applying directly to the FSMTB must complete and submit the MBLEx Application Form and the fee. Payment can be made by certified check, money order, Visa, or Master Card. Personal checks are not accepted.

Approval to Test
Once the application and fee are received, the FSMTB will process the application in five business days. If an application is incomplete, FSMTB will, as a courtesy, notify candidates via telephone, email, or US mail, informing them of any documentation that is needed to complete the application.

Once the application is approved, the FSMTB will issue a Authorization to Test (ATT) via email. If the candidate does not provide an email address on the application, it will be sent by postal mail. The ATT will include information that candidates will need to register for the exam date and exam site of their choice. Candidates will have 90 days from the issuance of the ATT to examine. Candidates must contact FSMTB if an ATT has not been received within 10 business days of submission of payment.

If a candidate is unable to test within the 90-day approval window, the candidate will be required to reapply as a new applicant subject to all application and fee requirements in place at that time. Fees are not refundable.

Withdrawing an Application
A candidate may withdraw the application at any time during the 90-day eligibility window by submitting a written request to FSMTB. Fees are refundable, minus a $45 processing fee. The candidate must cancel the appointment with Pearson Vue in order to request a withdrawal. Once the application is withdrawn, the candidate may reapply and is subject to all application and fee requirements in place at that time.

Score Reporting
The candidate will receive the official score report at the test site, immediately after taking the examination. No other report will be sent to the candidate.

The candidate's score will be reported electronically to the state board that the candidate requested on the application, providing it is a state that accepts MBLEx scores. The score will be reported to this first state at no cost.

If a candidate needs an additional copy of the score report or the score sent to an additional state, the candidate must fill out the MBLEx Mobility Form and pay the $20.00 fee.
